International Program

Local and International Programs is initiatives blending local context with global perspectives, seen in everything from school curricula (international schools using global standards vs. local systems) and student exchange (study abroad) to specific training programs for future leaders, we are focusing on global governance through local examples. These programs aim to build cross-cultural skills, global awareness, and practical experience, whether it's learning local government in an international setting or gaining global insight in a local school.

The local program is using the local language is the base for the study and the International Program is using the English for the study. This concept is to allow the foreign students be able to atten the study without any obstacle.

We offer comprehensive local and international academic programs across all major higher education levels, from entry-level undergraduate studies to the highest research degrees and academic ranks.  Here is a description of the programs offered:   Bachelor's Degree The Bachelor's degree is an undergraduate qualification and the first level of higher education.

  • Focus: It provides foundational knowledge and a broad understanding of a field of study, preparing students for entry-level professional positions or advanced research at the graduate level.
  • Duration: Typically takes three to four years of full-time study to complete.
  • Outcome: Graduates earn titles such as Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.).

Master's Degree A Master's degree is a postgraduate qualification that provides more specialized and advanced knowledge than a Bachelor's degree.

  • Focus: It involves deeper theoretical and applied study, often with a specific specialization within a discipline. Programs usually involve advanced coursework, examinations, and sometimes a thesis or a capstone project.
  • Duration: Typically requires one to two years of full-time study after completing a Bachelor's degree.
  • Outcome: Graduates earn titles such as Master of Arts (M.A.), Master of Science (M.S.), or Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.), enhancing career prospects and qualifying them for higher-level positions.

PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) The PhD is a terminal degree and the highest academic qualification, focused on original research and the creation of new knowledge in a specific field.

  • Focus: The primary focus is rigorous, independent research and the completion of a substantial dissertation or thesis that makes an original contribution to the academic discipline. Coursework may also be required, particularly in the initial years.
  • Duration: Typically takes anywhere from three to seven years to complete, depending on the field, research requirements, and whether the student has teaching responsibilities.
  • Outcome: Successful candidates are awarded the title of "Doctor" (Dr.) and are prepared for careers in academia, research and development, and highly specialized expert roles.

Professorship Professorship is an academic rank or a position held by a senior faculty member at a university or other higher education institution, rather than an academic degree itself.

  • Focus: Professors are leading experts in their field, responsible for teaching, conducting extensive research, publishing scholarly work, and providing leadership within their department or university. They often supervise PhD candidates and junior faculty.
  • Progression: The path to becoming a professor usually involves obtaining a PhD and then progressing through a series of academic ranks, such as assistant professor, associate professor, and finally, full professor, based on research output, teaching performance, and service.

  Local vs. International Programs

  • Local programs adhere to national educational standards and cultural contexts, focusing on local job market needs and regulatory requirements.
  • International programs often follow globally recognized curricula (e.g., the Bologna Process structure) and may offer opportunities for study abroad, attract diverse international faculty and students, and focus on global career opportunities. These programs often require proof of English proficiency through standardized tests like IELTS or TOEFL.

Transfer credit program: allows students to apply courses completed at one college/university toward a degree at another, recognizing prior learning for equivalent content to avoid repetition, with acceptance depending on the new institution's policies, grades (usually 'C' or higher), course relevance, and accreditation, often facilitated by systems like ECTS for mobility.  How It Works

  1. Assessment: The receiving institution evaluates your previous coursework (from accredited schools, military, or even standardized tests like AP/CLEP) to see if it matches their program requirements.
  2. Equivalency: They determine if your prior studies are equivalent in content and learning outcomes to their courses.
  3. Credit Granted: If a match is found, you receive academic credit, reducing your time and cost for the new degree.

Key Factors for Acceptance

  • Accreditation: The original institution must be accredited.
  • Grades: You generally need a "C" or better in the course.
  • Relevance: The course should align with your new major or program of study.
  • Timing: How recently the credits were earned matters.

Types of Transferable Credits

  • Standard Coursework: Completed classes from other colleges/universities.
  • Standardized Tests: AP, IB, CLEP, DANTES exams.
  • Other Experiences: Military training, work experience, or portfolios (depending on the school).

Purpose

  • To acknowledge previous academic work.
  • To provide a smoother transition between institutions.
  • To prevent you from paying for and retaking courses you've already mastered.

Before You Transfer

  • Research: Check the specific transfer policies of your target school.
  • Consult: Talk to an advisor or admissions counselor.
  • Petition: You can often petition for exceptions if your credits don't fit standard rules.
