ABOUT THE FACULTY

Faculty of Economics and Agricultural Sciences is one of the pioneer faculties for undergraduate studies at CUP University (CUP) offering Bachelor degrees in the fields of economics, finance, agricultural production and marketing. The faculty provides a supportive environment in which students develop their knowledge and skills and thus, helping them to reach their academic and professional goals. It tries to balance education in economics, finance, agricultural production and marketing with personal development. Once enrolled, one can see students coming from a wide range of backgrounds along with highly experienced local and foreign professors to provide and share most valuable knowledge and experience. 

MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN 

Welcome to Faculty of Economics and Agricultural Sciences, CUP University. As a Dean, I would like to appreciate you for spending time to visit our webpage. 

Currently, the global economy is increasingly interconnected through trade (agriculture, industry and service sector) and financial linkages, changing standard of living, bringing greater employment opportunities and benefits; however, it has also complexities and risks. Therefore, promoting human resource in economics and agriculture sectors in order to solve and protect those complexities and risks are the most important things to make variable in economic stability such as inflation, unemployment rate, income growth, GDP and GNI growth, etc. for development and economic growth. 

Students who study in Faculty of Economics and Agricultural Sciences at CUP University will have great opportunities to experience between theory and the real practical world and to expand knowledge for both future academic and professional careers. They will develop the analytical tools to be successful in the job market in competitive environment and gain a lot through the quality curriculum of all programs and highly qualified and experienced professors of the faculty. Students can also enjoy researching and reading many documents available in the library including internet facility.  In addition, they will have more opportunities to improve communication skills and build good relationship with classmates and will be pleased with comfortable classrooms, which are equipped with modern facilities to make all the learners feel joyful with good learning environment.

Programs in Agricultural Economics combine social sciences with technical agricultural knowledge across three degree levels.

1. Bachelor’s Program (B.Sc./B.A.)

Focus: Core economic principles applied to food production, natural resources, and rural development.

Curriculum: Includes microeconomics, agribusiness management, agricultural marketing, and basic plant/animal science.

Careers: Banker, marketing director, sales representative, or economic development coordinator.

2. Master’s Program (M.Sc./M.A.)

Focus: Advanced quantitative analysis and policy evaluation for global food systems and environmental issues.

Curriculum: Advanced microeconomics, econometrics, and specializations like environmental policy or sustainable development.

Options: Many universities offer accelerated tracks allowing students to complete both a Bachelor's and Master's in five years.

3. Doctoral Program (Ph.D.)

Focus: Independent research to develop new economic theories or solve complex global challenges like food security and climate change.

Curriculum: Intensive coursework in economic theory followed by comprehensive exams and a dissertation.

Careers: University professor, senior policy advisor for international organizations (FAO, World Bank), or lead researcher in agribusiness.
